Sibenik dance festival is annual summer event which takes place in SIBENIK, Croatia, a beautiful medieval town on the Mediterranean coast of the Adriatic, during the last week of July. Sibenik is positioned in the closest vicinity of three most beautiful nationaI parks in Europe, Kornati , Krka and Paklenica, with thousands of foreign visitors daily.

- The square in front of St James' Cathedral ( The cathedral is proteced as UNESCO's world cultural heritage).
Although having started recently, our efforts have led this dance festival towards a uniquely global platform which promotes art , connects young talented artists, and develops mutual understanding through cultural exchange.

ORIGINAL concept of the festival, a blend of two projects, morning dance classes, workshops, organized by the dance ensemble Kelkope, Zagreb, Croatia, and night open stage free-of-charge programme , organized by the host, dance theatre SHADOWS, Sibenik, Croatia.
We have have grown consistently with excellent reviews of the Festival. We are very proud to say that today SDF is 70 % professional dance Festival, having started with downtown program, whereas now, during six days it features over 15 dance companies ranging in style from classical ballet to modern, contamporary, jazz dance, show dance, Broadway, step dance etc....
Again this summer dancers , dance companies, choreographers and prominent artistic organizations will present their achievements in Sibenik, Croatia, at three most beautiful stages in the world: the open stage on the square in front of the St James' cathedral, Croatian most famous monument of sacral architecture, listed in the UNESCO's list of world heritage, the stage of St. Michael's fortress, proclaimed cultural attractions of the year by the Croatin tourist board, and Croatian national theatre in Sibenik.
Last year in July, during the 6th Sibenik dance festival, Sibenik was visited by around 300 dancers. Every year the number of participants grows, because we make efforts to raise the last year's level, and to enable our guest to enjoy in the most prominent performances , well known names names and award-winning dance projects.
Dancers throughout the world choose to come to this Croatian dance festival not only to spend their summer holidays in Sibenik, this pearl of Europe, but to take advantage of a unique concept of the festival, a blend of its two joined programes: morning dance school, organized by the dance ensemble Kelkope , Zagreb and dance art performances on open stages in the evening, organized by the host, dance theatre Shadows from Sibenik.
What are we looking for ?
Sibenic dance festival gives priority to performances that are easily adapted on our open stages. They have to be interesting and attractive to wide audiences that, in hot summer nights, gather around our dance stages in great numbers.
What do we want?
We are committed to one goal and that is to celebrate dance and achievements in dance art, showing the best and pointing out to young talents.
Our commitment is to celebrate dance no matter which style belongs, and therefore projects and dancers of all dance forms are welcome - from modern dance, jazz dance, a ballet, folk and traditional dances (flamenco, tap dance, irish step .... ), and urban styles.
How do we decide?
After considering the application forms, the jury views the received video links and DVD recordings, and the final program is sent as information to the media, and finally published in the festival brochure.
When deciding which performers will enter the final program of the Festival, we give priority to the programs that are implementing both quality of technical perfomance, artistic value and attractiveness.
What do we offer?
We offer a complete service for applicants who are selected to be part of our festival. This includes: a fully equipped stage for selected programs along with technical support, security, service and technical support staff, marketing services, support and assistance, joint brochures.
